“The rumor is completely fabricated, it can’t be. I am still very happy at Gremio club and I have a contract until 2024”, Uruguay’s El Observador newspaper quoted Luis Suarez as saying.
Rumors of Suarez reuniting with Messi at Inter Miami appeared shortly after the Argentine star confirmed to join the US professional league team on June 8. However, the Uruguayan striker denied and confirmed that he continues to stick with Gremio – the team that is ranked 4th on the table in the Brazilian championship.
According to The Sun , although some European stars chose to move to Saudi Arabia or the MLS, Suarez decided to go to Brazil because the club he is playing for is geographically located near Uruguay.
As for Messi, the Argentinian star will receive a salary of £ 43 million a year, equivalent to £ 830,000 a week at Inter Miami. Messi’s salary will be partly paid by Adidas, Apple and the rest of the MLS clubs.
Notably, despite successfully recruiting Messi, Inter Miami was a big disappointment in the MLS this season. After 16 matches, Inter Miami only won 15 points and was at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
In the last match, the team owned by David Beckham was defeated by Wayne Rooney’s DC United with a score of 2-1 at home. This is also the 5th consecutive loss of the DRV PNK home team in the MLS.
