Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit has chosen Kylian Mbappe over Erling Haaland in a debate between two young superstars who are in a spectacular race to replace Messi and Ronaldo to dominate world football.
Haaland and Mbappe are gradually replacing Lionel Messi – Cristiano Ronaldo debate on social networks when these two young strikers are in great form. The two are said to be able to win the Ballon d’Or in the future and coincidentally are also Real Madrid targets.
Former French footballer Emmanuel Petit believes the PSG star has been “a rocket” since the age of 17 and has broken all records in France. Striker Mbappe soon became a world champion at the age of 18 and recently made a great contribution to helping France win the 2022 World Cup runner-up, while Haaland is breaking many records in England.
In an interview with Legal SportsBooks, Petit was asked to choose between these two young strikers. He wanted to choose both but then called out Mbappe’s name after being forced to choose one. Petit shared: “Can I choose both? It is difficult to eliminate one of the two best names in world football right now. But since I am French, I will choose Kylian Mbappe.

Also because this guy has been a rocket since he was 17 years old. Mbappe has broken all the records in France and there is nothing stopping him from doing things. But if Mbappe wants to win the Champions League and be the best player in the world, win the Ballon d’Or, I think he has to leave PSG.”
Mbappe led France to the World Cup final last December and has also excelled in a PSG shirt this season. Meanwhile, Haaland is in superb form for Manchester City, who are on their way to a historic treble.
Emmanuel Petit also believes that Kylian Mbappe’s future will eventually end at Real Madrid as they need a striker. He does not think Mbappe changed his mind to sign for PSG last season and that closed the door to this transfer possibility.

He said: “I think the door to the Bernabeu is still open for Mbappe and it is also his dream to play football at Real Madrid, although perhaps the door is not as wide open as it was two years ago. I know President Florentino Perez is close. If Mbappe wants to come to Madrid, he is still welcome but he has to accept a reduction in his salary.
Real want the French striker to devote himself to Real Madrid without thinking about money. In fact Mbappe chose to sign a three-year contract with PSG last time, but I think in the last season of that contract he can negotiate with Real easily. So next season could be a turning point for Mbappe.”
Real Madrid were once ready to sign Mbappe this summer and wanted him to apply for a transfer at PSG. They are also monitoring Haaland but will have to wait another season or two as the Norwegian only joined Manchester City last summer.
